  • An internal review at Acorn, reveals that its founder's brother embezzled $5 million from the group, according to a subpoena served Monday by the Louisiana attorney general.  [New York Times]
  • Six hundred and fifty million of the stimulus package will go directly to school districts or schools in partnership with colleges, philanthropies, nonprofit companies that turn around failing schools, or other nonprofit groups.  [Associated Press]
