Public School 47 Receives Truckload of Supplies
In a terrible economy, it is especially important for business to stand behind the local community and its educational facilities. This morning, Boost Mobile donated a truckload of school supplies to Public School 47, John Randolph School in the Bronx. Like many New York public schools, P.S. 47 faces the challenges of overcrowding and a lack of resources, such as text books, paper, writing instruments and more. Last year, the school was capped at 1100 students—since then, it has taken on more than 100 additional students and that number continues to grow. City budget cuts and looming recession woes only make it harder to provide necessary resources for students. It is partnerships such as these that can help New York public schools.
